What NERV Child Are You?
------
song of the week
evanesence: my immortal
i'm so tired of being here
suppressed by all of my childish fears
and if you have to leave
i wish that you would just leave
because your presence still lingers here
and it won't leave me alone
these wounds won't seem to heal
this pain is just too real
there's just too much that time cannot erase
when you cried i'd wipe away all of your tears
when you'd scream i'd fight away all of your fears
and i've held your hand through all of these years
but you still have all of me
you used to captivate me
by your resonating light
but now i'm bound by the life you left behind
your face it haunts my once pleasant dreams
your voice it chased away all the sanity in me
these wounds won't seem to heal
this pain is just too real
there's just too much that time cannot erase
when you cried i'd wipe away all of your tears
when you'd scream i'd fight away all of your fears
and i've held your hand through all of these years
but you still have all of me
i've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone
and though you're still with me
i've been alone all along

Greatest Journal, ahoy~
04.03.04 (2:39 pm) [edit]
Well, I have done it again: I have yet again chenged blog hosts. Frankly, I think that Greatest Journal (www.greatestjournal.com) is a better host than Tblog. It's better looking (as far as templates go), and you can actually upload and endless amount of images (Tblog, at first, only let regular users upload only 5 dinky images; now, only pro users can upload images). BUT (yes, there's a bit butt in all of this), you Tblog people have lucked out, because I'm not permanantly going away: that's because, for some odd reason, I get the parental block thingy whenever I go to the Greatest Journal site, so I have to update my GJ journal at school *sigh*. Now, where is my GJ journal anyhow? *points to the link to the left of the site* Go there, folks. SNAP

Possible manga ideas
03.17.04 (4:18 pm) [edit]
Wooo...this is incredibly random. But I have nothing else better to do, so here you go... See, in the, quote on quote, "near future", I plan on starting an online manga called "Aries" (having no relation to the god of war, mind you). I have four pages completely drawn, so all I gotta do is get off my butt and scan 'em (note how the nearest snanner is not at my house, but my dad's office). So here's the plot (the long version, that is):
Osamu Tsukino (surname first; like how it's done in Japan) is a typical Japanese school boy, having no real social life (apart from his best friend Aramaki Yusuke), and no girlfriend. What a drag. One fateful morning, however, he gets the surprise of his life: a girl asleep in his bed! The girl, who has no memories of her past life besides that her name is Noriko, claims that something brought her to his house. Being a guy who can't turn a pretty girl away (considering this is the first time he's had an opportunity to), he lets her live in his house. Pretty soon after that, however, things get really weird. Two angels appear on Tsukino's doorstep, saying that they're searching for a demon named Yuri, who has just been let loose on Earth. The angels, sisters named Kino and Kinoko, have been exiled from their home, a place called Exon, and the only way to get back is to capture Yuri. And so, Tsukino lets them stay at his house.
That's basically it, without me revealing too much this early on. This is a project (which I named "Project Aries") which I have been working on for years; the plot slowly evolving into what it is today. So. What do you think? In short, Aries is about the unravelling of the mystery of Noriko, with, of course, a bunch of angels and demons mixed in to make the plot more confusing ('course, I don't want to make it a whole lot confusing for the readers); leaving more questions than answers. This is something that I've been dreaming of creating for a long time, so you don't have to worry about me quitting right in the middle of the story.
Here's another interesting bit: the pages really don't take too much time for me to make (since I'm a very basic, and poor, person, so I don't have any fancy materials, like screentone. My only "weapons" are mechanical pencils, Sakura pens, and the nifty compter for lettering and editing), sooo...I just might be able to create two different mangas; one page of Aries, and another page for...well, I haven't really decided on which story, but I'll let you know).

Back to Kakashi
03.11.04 (3:10 pm) [edit]
Eh, I did like the Kenshin-ish theme I had earlier, but I liked my Naruto theme better. The Naruto manga is better (in my opinion; so don't hate me) than the Rurouni Kenshin manga (although I do love both the anime and manga versions of RK). Anyhoo. A banner and a background image will be up...when I get around to it :P Here's some news...I've become a Sasuke freak as well. What has become of me???! SO. I'm gonna make this thing a Kakashi/Sasuke theme. And, no, I'm not a yaoi person. To think that someone would actually pair up Kakashi-senisei and Sasuke is just plain gross. Sooo...oh, ya! Spring Break is next week!! :D :D I can't tell you how ready I am for it! @_@ <--(what I'm gonna look like before Monday comes)>

The Passion, and the love
03.01.04 (9:51 am) [edit]
The Passion: Well, last Friday, Mom, Dad, Jonathan, and I went to see The Passion, along with my cousin Lauren, and two graduate students (Xi-heung and Li) from China. Mom brought a whole frickin' box of tissues, and it was put to good use. If you haven't seen it yet, even if you're not a Christian, then I recommend you do. I'm not trying to witness or whatnot, but, ya know, it's a good movie :)
The love: Ok, here's the story. My cousin Lydia got engaged with a baseball player from California (his name's Mike), I think, about a month ago. From what I understand, they knew each other from childhood, and went out in high-school, then broke up, then, when she moved back from Texas (where she went to college) to Michigan (where she was originally from), and started a long-distance relationship with Mike. Or something like that. Anyhoo. But, a couple of weeks ago, we got a phone call from her saying that she and Mike had decided to get married on the 28th (which was Saturday, ya know)...in Las Vegas, no doubt. The original date was sometime in December. Needless to say, we couldn't go (oh, darn. What a shame.), buuuut...we got to watch the thing on the Internet. You heard me right. The wedding was gonna be put on this web site dilly so that people can watch it (which is a creepy thought, since any weirdo can watch you get married). So, Mom, Dad, and me drove for 30 minutes into town (since, where we live, there was no way we could be able to watch a live video) to Mom's office at Baylor (it was at night, so we had to wander around for a few minutes to find a door that wasn't locked), and my parents watched the 7-minute long wedding (meanwhile, I was on another computer, skipping from the wedding to other sites). And so...that's it. I gotta go; don't wanna be late to my next class, now :P

The coolest webcomics out there, 'cus I said so!
02.24.04 (3:16 pm) [edit]
Have I ever mentioned my love for online manga? Well, I haven't, and I do. So, just for the heck of it, I'm gonna tell you my personal favorites:
MegaTokyowww.megatokyo.com - If you haven't read MegaTokyo, then I suggest that you'd get out from beneath the rock you've been living in all your life, 'cus this thing's the greatest one out there. It's humor, art, and everything else is pure genius. Genius, I tell you!! If you do plan on reading it ('bout time), then you could either have a heck of a time reading all of the pages, considering there are over 500 of 'em, or you can just pick up the two graphic novels that are out right now. Yeah, they got GNs, too. How cool is that??
Gangsta City gangstacity.com - This lil' thing comes from my internet buddy Wildarmsheero, so prepare yourself for the pure insanity that's a'comin'. I'd have to say that his greatest talent is his lighting skill with his art. It's so...pretty! :D Not that the comics that they are a part of make since most of the time, mind you :P
Tsunami Channel www.tsunamichannel.com - TC is comprised of two running comics, Experimental Comic Kotone (aka ExCoKo) and Magical Mina, although I just read ExCoKo. The creator, Hasegawa Akira, is Japanese, so sometimes the parodies that he puts into the comics (and believe me, there are more parodies in here than you can shake a stick at!) don't really make sense to American readers, since they're about anime that haven't been brought to the States yet. But, nonetheless, it's all funny, even if you can't understand some of it. This is probably the first online manga that I started reading reguarly. Oh, yea, and did I mention all the hentai (referred to as "H" in the comic)? Yea. Two of the characters are hentai, although the comic remains PG-13, so nothing which would be offensive is said and/or seen.
Death Wish: A.K.A. Swordfish www.deathwish.endlessdusk.net - This comic's still relatively young, but I like where it's going. The art's simply gorgeous, featuring PLENTY of bishounen. *drool* I doubt anyone that doesn't like shoujo manga could get into this, much less really like it, since it's all shoujo.
Saturnalia www.saturnalia.keenspace.com - Hehe...Saturnalia is just plain funny. The futuristic environment featured here is well done, and the humor and art fit together really well. Featuring androids, and the people who love 'em or hate 'em.
and last, but not least...
Free My Soul http://www.espring.xavion.net... - FMS has less than 20 pages, and the arthur hasn't updated in forever, but the art/humor/story is enough to keep me hanging onto it (for however long until the next page is up!!). I mean, c'mon...we've seen vampires in anime and manga, but when have they ever been this cute??
*whew* That was...interesting, huh? ^^;;

Hehe...sry I haven't posted in, like, forever. I've been really busy with school and all that crap. But I'll be better...I hope _O Well, I found out recently, thanks to the good people at AniPike, that Target has started selling more anime!! They used to just sell Yu-Gi-Oh and Dragonball GT, but now they're selling anime like Chobits, Fruits Basket (which I am SO getting), Tenchi Muyo, Inu-Yasha (another must)...and other, which I can't really remember at the moment.

12.30.03 (12:50 pm) [edit]
I know Christmas has already past, but oh well. Yesterday I came up with a 12 Days of Christmas: Anime Style! Enjoy~
On the 12th day of Christmas, my true love gave to me... 12 sailor senshi 11 evil demons 10 giant robots 9 yummy rice balls 8 hackers hacking 7 suzaku seishi 6 alien girls 5 NERV children 4 ranma suitors 3 norse goddesses 2 dueling princes and a hot spring with jugs of sake!
Hmm...ok, so it's not perfect. Anyhoo. So today I decided to go to work with Mom. That can only mean...7 HOURS OF HIGH-SPEED INTERNET!!!!!!!!! (and, uh...quality time with my mother, of couse ^^;;) And I'm using my time wisely, by downloading chapters upon chapters of the Naruto manga (translated by the wonderful people at www.narutofan.com--I've got 100 chapters so far!!), Creed songs, anime songs, video clips (One Piece looks so cool!!), and music videos. Oooooh yea (*cackle*).

I'm not dead yet!
12.29.03 (7:30 am) [edit]
Weeeeell I hope everyone had a nice Christmas (/Chanukah/Kwanzaa, whatever). I was happy because one of the things I got was the FLCL vol. 1 and Cowboy Bebop: Blue soundtracks! I was soooo happy! =3 I went to my grandparents house on Monday and came back on Christmas Eve (the same ones that I went to on Thanksgiving--and no, Emma wasn't there, thanks goodness XP). So, yea, I went back to that anime store (Fried Ant Anime), and I bought a Chii plushie (like my Sango one...it's SOoOo cute!!) and the Kare Kano manga vol. 4 (I also have vol. 2 and 3...now, if I can just find vol. 1, darnit!!). Aaand at Wal-Mart, I bought an Aragorn (ya know, from The Lord of the Rings?) poster...*drool*...and a Rurouni Kenshin DVD (I'm so happy they started selling those at Wal-Mart!) Then I wasted the last of my money by buying the mangas Rurouni Kenshin vol. 1, Rave Master vol. 1, and Ayashi no Ceres vol. 5 (in the right-to-left format, at long last! 'Bout time Viz started doing that! At a cheaper price, too!) Oh, yea! And Jonathan got me the Metropolis DVD! I love that guy! It's actually pretty handy to have a brother that works at a video store, since whenever an anime DVD comes in he gives it to me (that's how I got .hack//SIGN vol. 1 and Wild Arms vol. 2). So big brothers DO have purposes...kee kee kee  Hope everyone has a happy New Years, since, knowing me, I won't post a blog until much later afterwards!

Criminey--where have I been?! _< Gomen~ Anyhoo, last week seemed to be an early Christmas present. Last Wednesday, Emilie called me and asked me if I wanted to babysit for her mom's friend that Saturday.(Em usually babysits for this person's kids, but she couldn't do it that week, so she called her, and I quote, "most responsible friend": me. I feel loved.) So I agreed (since, ya know, I was in dire need of money). Then on Friday, Jonathan called us and asked me if I wanted to work a few hours at Blue Cat (the video store that my brother works at). Now I know that he wouldn't in his right mind call me on a normal day to work with him a few hours, but the other people who were supposed to work then had called in sick, and no one that he could think of could make it, soo...time to call in the younger sister. Again, the little dollar signs popped up in my head, so I agreed to that little job also. It wasn't that bad, actually. I made $18 that night. Then came my next job: babysitting. I was nervous since this was the first time I've watched somebody's kids whom I didn't even know. But that's ok. I only had to watch them for a couple hours, since their bedtime was 8:00 (they were 4 and 7, and I stayed there from 6 to 11). After that, since there wasn't anything else on really, I watched the Christmas specials on Fox Family (very scary), then when Rurouni Kenshin came on, I watched that. I was really, really tired, though. I only made it through half of Yu Yu Hakusho, which was right afterwards, when I fell asleep (YYH never thrills me, needless to say), and then I slept all the way through .hack//SIGN, which was what I was wanted to watch mostly in the first place ;_; By the time I woke up, the parents were already there. Got $30 outta that, so I'm happy ^_^ Then earlier this week, Jonathan traded in our N64 at Game Stop for credit. Since it was originally given to the both of us, I got half of it ($19 in credit). He bought an X-Box with the money he saved. I would've been happier if he had gotten a PS2 (so that I could get .hack, Xenosaga, and FFX), but oh well. I could always rent Dead or Alive 3, since I like that game as well (note how I say 'rent' and not buy--see, he's a senior in high school, so he'll be going to college in less than a year, and he'll be taking the X-Box with him, leaving me with our sad little Sega Genesis). I'm thinking about saving some money to eventually buy a PS2, but I doubt it'll happen. I might end up buying Haibane Renmei vol. 1. Who knows *shrug*>Oh yea--if you read Oh My Goddess and/or Animerica Extra, check out the newest issue of them. You'll find a fan letter from me there! =3 My signed name is Bethany.

Back home again...and outta the playoffs
11.29.03 (10:01 am) [edit]
|
Well, Thanksgiving was...swell. My cousin Emma (she's 12) was as clingy as ever, which was to be expected, of course. The lights went out during the dinner (erm...lunch...) because of the winds (or something), so Jonathan, Uncle Kyle (my uncle) and Paul (my cousin) went back to our hotel rooms to watch the game (because, ya know, you simply CAN'T miss the Cowboys playing. No biggie; they sucked this time around. Too bad). Dad let Emma use his video camera, and she went crazy with it. No one was safe. The only other interesting thing that happened was the stupid dog from across the street (I assume he was from there; I'm really not quite sure, though) was barking at my grandparents' cat. It even took the trouble of going all the way to the back yard just to bark at it. How thoughtful. So Jonathan grabbed a slingshot and a handful of pecans and chased after it. Unfortunately the dog ran off, so he decided to go after the next biggest moving object. You can guess who that was. My butt still hurts, and from then on he dubbed me as "Bullseye" -_-. On the plus side, though, we were able to go to that anime store. I only had $11, and I had my eyes on a DiGi Charat figure (it was just SOOO cute!!), I soon saw something better: the Alice 19th vol. 1 graphic novel. I was ESTATIC. I'll just have you know that I'm a HUGE Yu Watase fan, and I've been dying to read this manga. I really like it, too. Some people might not like it because they might catagorize it as a magical girl manga, and it kinda-sorta-in-a-way is. But I like it, nonetheless. I go for all things shoujo (tee hee ^.^).And so that's my Thanksgiving story. By the time we got back on Friday, Jonathan and I had and hour to get ready to go to the game, which would require another 2 hour drive. *sigh* We got to wear Santa hats there, and after half-time, we got bubbles!! XD It was fun, although the football team didn't do so hot...the final score was 56-19. Ah, well, at least we can finally get Fridays off *shrug*.

Whew...am I glad that school's out! I can finally have a few days of peace! In IPC today we made ice-cream =3 Of course, it was all relative to chemical or whatever...but it was still fun, although for most of the groups that did it...no ice-cream was produced. How sad. Luckily, someone had broght ice cream, just in case

Well now, since I'll obviously be mentioning a lot of other people besides me in my entries, I think I'll just go ahead and give you the who's-who:
Emilie - my best friend. A total sucker for romance, but ya gotta love her.
Mallory - another good friend. Her obsession is the Beatles.
Kayli - another friend. She likes...cheese. And X-Men Evolution fanfics, although she's sure to write the most funniest around.
Katie - good friend and fellow Trigun and FLCL fan (so she's cool!).
Brooke - a sophmore whom I hang around with a lot. She's really weird...like me. Our motto is, "We suck!!".
-:teachers:- 1st Period World Geography - Mrs. Dameron. She's nice to me, but I have to admit I feel sorry for her because 90% of the guys in my class make fun of her. And I question her ability to enforce discipline on them...
2nd Period Health - Coach Keeton. Now this guy is awesome!! He and my 6th period teacher are my favorites.
3rd Period Band - Mr. Jones. Umm...welll...it's band, ya know? :P
4th Period Lunch
5th Period Spanish - Mrs. Delgado. She's nice, also.
6th Period English - Mrs. Smathers. A.k.a. T-Smat. She's great. We have the most...interesting...conversations in class.
7th Period I.P.C. - Mr. Loudermilk. Nice guy, although I admit I used to make fun of his name at the first day of school _< My bad.> 8th Period Algebra - Mrs. Peters. I really like Mrs. Peters, too...and surprisingly enough, I'm doing well in her class!

Guilt trip
11.23.03 (11:56 am) [edit]
Ok, so I haven't updated since Friday. No big deal...right? Well, strangely enough, I was a bit guilty...for some odd reason...because of this. I was doing sooo good at updating daily!! *sigh* What sucks about guilt is that you end up...dreaming about it. So last night I had a dream that I got an e-mail from the T-Blog admin people-dudes saying that my lack of updating would end up causing me to lose my blog. Scary. Now that that's outta the way...well, this Thursday's Turkey Day, as we all know. Me, I'm going to my grandparents' house =3 I love going there. It's so much fun. Plus, there's a great anime store that lives somewhat around where they live that we always go by on the way there. So that's a plus. More later... Aaannd on a side note--those stuuuupid people on Survivor voted off Rupert!!! What are those people thinking??!! ARGH!!! I was so sure that he'd win, or at least be in the top three...But at this point, I think that the winner will be one of these guys: -Christa -Sandra -and, if nothing happens that'll change everything...Burt, although I really don't want him to win. I don't hate him as much as Jon, though, the little twerp. I could just wring his neck if I could!! Grr... Ok, so I'm a Survivor fan, as you can see. Sue me :D

Mom sent this e-mail forward to me...and I just love it so much that I thought I'd post it.
EXCERPTS FROM A DOG'S DIARY 8:00 am - OH BOY! DOG FOOD! MY FAVORITE! 9:30 am - OH BOY! A CAR RIDE! MY FAVORITE! 9:40 am - OH BOY! A WALK! MY FAVORITE! 10:30 am - OH BOY! A CAR RIDE! MY FAVORITE! 11:30 am - OH BOY! DOG FOOD! MY FAVORITE! 12:00 noon - OH BOY! THE KIDS! MY FAVORITE! 1:00 pm - OH BOY! THE YARD! MY FAVORITE! 1:30 pm - ooooooo, bath. Bummer. 4:00 pm - OH BOY! THE KIDS! MY FAVORITE! 5:00 PM - OH BOY! DOG FOOD! MY FAVORITE! 5:30 PM - OH BOY! MOM! MY FAVORITE! EXCERPTS FROM A CAT'S DIARY DAY 752 - My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from ruining the occasional piece of furniture. Tomorrow I may eat another houseplant. DAY 761 - Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded; must try this at the top of the stairs. In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favorite chair...must try this on their bed. DAY 765 - Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body, in attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat I was. Hmmm...not working according to plan. DAY 768 - I am finally aware of how sadistic they are. For no good reason I was chosen for the water torture. This time however it included a burning foamy chemical called "shampoo." What sick minds could invent such a liquid. My only consolation is the piece of thumb still stuck between my teeth. DAY 771 - There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary throughout the event. However, I could hear the noise and smell the foul odor of what they call "pizza." More importantly, I overheard that my confinement was due to MY power of "allergies." Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage. DAY 774 - I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half-wit. The bird on the other hand has got to be an informant, and speaks with them regularly. I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his current placement in the metal room his safety is assured. But I can wait; it is only a matter of time 8) 8) 8)

Today in Band we got the box of chocolates that we're supposed to sell as a fundraiser.
*Bang!*
Aaaand they're off!!
That's pretty much how it is. It's practically a race to be the first person to sell chocolate bars to someone else. There are 140-something people in the band, so it's gonna be interesting. I've sold 3 so far...which isn't bad, considering I'm not into being a salesperson. But, for a buck apiece...it'll be a piece of cake. Oh yea--the money is going to our accounts for the trip next April to Corpus Christy (woo!), and the top three sellers get Best Buy gift certificates. Heck ya, baby!

Seriously...what can I say? This day was...boring. Nothing exciting happened, except for the fact that we had Mrs. Brewer as a sub in Algebra. Why would you care? Well, frankly, you probably don't, but I'll just tell you this: the woman gets headaches like no one else. I swear, she apsolutely cannot STAND it when people make a bunch of noise, like doing that drum whatever stuff guys do with pens. She counted a guy, Clinton, tardy just because he didn't have "his butt in his chair" (he was sitting on his desk). That's how bad she is. To actually count a guy tardy because he was sitting on the top of his desk instead of his chair. Unbelievable..

Well, as you can see, I changed the colors here once again, and I have my Kakashi-sensei header up! It didn't really turn out the way I wanted it (I wish there was a way for it to not be stretched once it's there...), but oh well. Tell me what you think!

I'm tired, man... Well, yesterday at the game, we won hands down. 23-0, baby...and this was the team that took us out of the playoffs last year! Haha! So today my parents and I went to see Master and Commander--a very good movie. Kinda grody at times, though XP And it's definately a guy movie, also. Not exactly the type of thing you should take your girlfriend out to see. Oh yea, I thought that I'd post this picture of Cosmo from The Fairly Odd Parents, who is my favorite non-anime character (yes!! I love The Fairly Odd Parents, and I'm not afraid to admit it!!!).
